Nebraska WBB Loses to Michigan 67-61

An unwelcome pattern has developed in close games for a young Husker team

The Husker women have tied a school record with the 11th game this season separated by six points (two possessions) or less. Unfortunately, Nebraska is 2-9 in those games. The Huskers are 1-6 in Big Ten play in games decided by two possessions.

In last night’s game, the Husker defense held Michigan without a field goal for the first 7 1⁄2 minutes of the fourth quarter. Nebraska led 51-49 with four minutes left, but some ill-timed turnovers gave the Wolverines the opening they needed. Nine free throws at the end of the game sealed the win.

The loss dropped Nebraska to 5-7 in the Big Ten and 10-13 overall, while the Wolverines improved to 15-9 and 6-6 in the conference by splitting the season series with the Huskers.
