Nebraska gymnast Christopulos wins Big Ten title in vault

Luke Mullin and Amie Just break down what they’ve seen from Nebraska football’s first week of spring practice and wrap up the Husker women’s basketball team’s season.

Taylor Christopulos on Saturday became Nebraska’s first event champion at a Big Ten gymnastics meet since 2019.

Christopulos won the vault title with 14.90 points. The Big Ten gymnast of the year was one of three Husker men to earn medals in Columbus, Ohio.

Nebraska freshman Nathan York earned bronze on floor (14.325) and senior Donte McKinney was third in high bar (14.475).

When Christopulos stuck the landing on his vault attempt, there was a feeling among his teammates that he had uncorked a big score. There was a loud cheer, and Christopulos fist-pumped and roared in the direction of the Huskers.

Now, Nebraska turns its attention to the qualifier round of the NCAA Championships on April 14 on the Penn State campus.
