Incoming Freshman Liang Captures Gold at Junior Pan American Games



Rio De Janeiro, BRAZIL – Nebraska men’s gymnastics freshman Toby Liang competed at the 2022 Junior Pan American Games this past weekend in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, for Team USA. Liang finished with a high geared all-around performance, finishing in fourth with a score of 75.450 and helping Team USA to its second consecutive gold medal in the team competition. 

The Georgia native qualified for the pommel horse, vault and high bar finals. Liang claimed the silver medal on parallel bars and the high bar while finishing in fourth on pommel horse and vault. 

Liang highlights an impressive signing class and is set to compete in the 22-23 season with newcomers Jack Critz, Asher Cohen, Nathan York, James Friedman and Zac Tiderman.
