Huskers Set for Tri-Meet At Utah State



The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set to take on Utah State and Alaska Anchorage on Friday, March 3 in Logan, Utah. The meet is set for 8 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed live on Utah State’s website (utahstateaggies.com/watch). 

 

The last time the Huskers faced Utah State was in 2017, when NU picked up the win. Nebraska leads the series, 17-9. Alaska Anchorage and NU last faced each other in 2006, with Nebraska claiming the win. The Huskers lead the series, 2-0.

 

Last Time Out

NU is coming off of a conference loss to No. 4 Michigan. The Wolverines claimed the victory with a score of 198.275 while the Huskers finished the meet with a team score of 196.850. 

 

Despite the loss, the Big Red saw numerous team season highs and individual season highs. 

 

Scouting the Competition

Utah State is coming off of a loss to BYU, falling to the Cougars 195.425-196.450. Senior Alivia Ostendorf led the Aggies claiming the vault title with a 9.900 and the floor title with a 9.900 as well. Brianna Brooks earned the all-around title for Utah State with a score of 39.050. 

 

Alaska Anchorage fell to BYU on Wednesday, 190.125-196.350. The Seawolves have wins over Simpson College and William and Mary this season. Senior Rachel Decious leads Alaska Anchorage as the only senior on the roster.
