Huskers Remain Undefeated Leading into Final Day in New Jersey



Las Vegas, Nev. – After two days of qualifying, the Nebraska bowling team went 10-0 with a total pinfall of 10,314 and will have a third-place seed going into the final championship bracket play at the 2022 Northeast Classic in Deptford, N.J.  

The Big Red started the day off with a win against Long Island University (973-833). NU then defeated Fairleigh Dickinson (1,042-932), No. 12 Duquesne (1,070-1,053) and No. 10 Maryland Eastern Shore (1,144-990). NU then wrapped up the day with a win against No. 21 Sacred Heart (1,054-921).  

Four Huskers currently sit in the top 20 individual standings after today’s five traditional matches. Freshman Jillian Martin leads the Huskers in seventh with a total pinfall of 1,099. Senior Kendyl Hofmeister is in 11th with a total pinfall of 1,080, and Anna Callan sits close behind in 13th with 1,074. Rounding out the group is Kayla Verstraete at 15th with 1,068.  

The Huskers will resume play tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. (ET) in a three round best-of-seven baker style championship bracket against No. 5 Stephen F. Austin.
