Fact: The world has not ended.

Ya know, I’m starting to get really frustrated with parts of our fan base these days. Nobody in their right mind could have predicted what was going to happen this year and it’s been rough one for sure, but Nebraska Football is not getting worse by any means and some of ya’ll calling for Frost’s head aren’t understanding what is really happening or even understanding football and what is best for a team and a program.

Yes the loss to Minnesota wasn’t great, but was it worse than the loss to Illinois? Hell no. Nebraska played well against both Iowa and Purdue and mind you, Purdue beat Iowa early on and now Iowa is one of the hottest teams in the country (they’ve allowed 24 points or fewer in 21 straight games). I know the season has been roller coaster but damn the emotional roller coaster that some people are when it comes to football is astounding!

This program and team needs all the stability and foundation it can get. Frost is a great recruiter and this cycle with no in-person recruiting and no visits shows a lot about how well he relates to young athletes and shows them what the program is all about. This team is so close and I see it in the players eyes in interviews and I see it on the field in their effort. There are just so many factors that continue to play against Nebraska that impact them negatively from being able to be successful.

Nebraska is, imo, one normal year away from breaking through to a winning season and the start of some ongoing success. One normal year of spring football. One normal season and recruiting cycle not affected by a pandemic. One normal fall camp that leads into one normal out of conference schedule not affected by a weather delay… you get my point. A team like Nebraska with its incredible amount of youth, NEEDS things like spring ball and bowl practices and normal fall camp and nonconference opponents to be able to grow as a program. My hope is that a little bit of success here and there over the next couple of years and really spring forward this team into a new era.

I know this post was kinda all over the place but I just wanted to share some of my ongoing thoughts about things and I’d love to discuss in the comments as well. GBR!
