Why Colorado University should not be allowed into the Big Ten

I have seen a lot of speculation on different teams that the Big Ten should try to poach. Colorado University should not be one of them. People argue, Denver TV market, AAU institution, natural rival for Nebraska. Great, awesome, who gives a shit?

You know what should matter at an AAU member institution? Proper terminology. Do you know how many people think that Ralphie, Colorado’s live mascot is a buffalo, due to the fact that this dipshit athletic program has the outline of a similar creature on their helmets? Millions. I bet the vast majority of Coloradoans and Nebraskans, as well as other former Big VIII member school kids grew up thinking those majestic creatures that roam the Americas are called Buffalo.

You know what those creatures are not? Buffalo. They are Bison. North Dakota State knows what’s up. Colorado does not. If you cannot trust an ACADEMIC INSTITUTION to use proper terminology, who can you trust?

[Here is a source explaining more information about Bison](https://nationalzoo.si.edu/animals/news/its-bison-not-buffalo-and-other-american-bison-facts#:~:text=Though%20the%20terms%20are%20often,two%20are%20not%20closely%20related.)

There are two types of Bison, the American Bison or Bison Bison per the scientific name, as well as the European Bison, or Bison bonasus.

I move that until the sports team in Colorado either gets a Cape Buffalo or Water Buffalo to replace Ralphie, or they rename their team the Bison, they shall not be allowed in a conference with as much academic prestige as the Big Ten.

If none of that convinces you, may I present another alternative?

Fuck Colorado.
