We’re so close?

I’m sorry but the ‘we’re so close’ argument is a tired ass take and I’m sick of hearing it. You don’t continue to lose games in this fashion because ‘we’re close’. In fact, I’d wager it’s the opposite. A team that consistently shoots itself in the foot and buckles under pressure is not ‘close’. When all the opposing team has to do is wait for you to choke you’re not ‘close’.

I firmly believe you are what your record is and Nebraska is a 3-9 team. Sure, we played good teams close. Big fucking deal. Is that the standard now? Just go out there and try not to get embarrassed? Is that the state of Husket football in 2021? The fact is Frost is in his 4th year and just finished the worst season in 60 years. He essentially turned this team into a meme and the only reason he’s still here is strictly a financial one.

I was all in on Frost at the beginning and felt it was the right move at the time. But it’s become abundantly clear he was not ready to coach a P5 program.
