Nebraska Softball Sets Fall Schedule



The Nebraska softball team will begin its fall season Thursday Sept. 8, which will include three scrimmages, seven home games and one away game. 

The Huskers have their first of three intrasquad scrimmages Thursday, Sept. 8, at Bowlin Stadium. The second intrasquad scrimmage is set for Thursday, Sept. 15 while the final of the three intrasquad scrimmages will be Thursday, Sept. 29. All three Scarlet and Cream scrimmages will start at 3:30 p.m. and are open and free to the public. 

NU will kick off the fall season in Omaha, Neb., against Creighton on Sunday, Sept. 18. The game is set to start at 12 p.m. 

The Huskers will host Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday, Sept. 22, and the game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. 

Sunday, Oct. 2, Nebraska will take on Kansas at Bowlin Stadium in a double-header, starting at 12 p.m. 

NU will conclude its fall season with the Big Red Fall Classic Oct. 8-9 including games against Omaha and Colorado State. On Saturday, Nebraska will take on Omaha at 12:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with Colorado State at 3 p.m. On Sunday, the Huskers will face the Rams at 10 a.m. NU will finish the fall season with a game against Omaha at 3:30 p.m. 

All fall games will take place at Bowlin Stadium and are free admission. Concessions will be open for all games, except the Scarlet and Cream scrimmage. 

Nebraska returns 12 players from the 2022 Big Ten Championship team including seniors Brooke Andrews, Mya Felder and Courtney Wallace, juniors Billie Andrews, Camyl Armendariz, Sydney Gray, Kaylin Kinney, Abbie Squier, Caitlynn Neal, Abbey Newlun and sophomores Ava Bredwell and Mckinley Malecha

NU welcomes eight newcomers in Southern Illinois transfer Sarah Harness and freshmen Kendall Mangel, Katelyn Caneda, Dakota Carter, Alina Felix, Ashley Smetter, Talia Tokheim and Haidyn Warner.
