Nebraska Recruiting Notebook: April 18th

The first day on the recruiting trail for Nebraska following the start of the spring evaluation period was very eventful. Here are the headlines in the Nebraska Recruiting Notebook for April 18th.

Huskers offer their 7th in-state recruit for 2023

Nebraska let Beni Ngoyi know that he was on their minds to go and see once the spring evaluation period started. Coach Mickey Joseph was at Lincoln High early on Monday morning and informed the coaches that they were offering Ngoyi.

Steadily, Ngoyi has been getting more popular but also Ngoyi has been doing the things that Nebraska told him to do to earn an offer. The Huskers did a bit of an end around on Ngoyi apparently checking in on his efforts to work towards an offer. Ngoyi recently recorded a 42-inch vertical jump and has also been impressive in track. Ngoyi ran 11.02 back on Apr. 2nd and triple jumped 44-3.5-feet that same day.

The Huskers have now offered seven in-state recruits. Ngoyi joins Nebraska commits Benjamin Brahmer, Gunnar Gottula and Sam Sledge as well as uncommitted, in-state prospects Malachi Coleman, Maverick Noonan and Brock Knutson.

Where was the staff on Monday?

It’s always tough to tell exactly where the staff is at. However, based on the information we learned and reported Monday, here are the areas we can confirm the Husker staff visited on Monday.

– Lincoln

-Omaha

– Arizona

– Michigan

– Kansas City

– Western Nebraska/Colorado

– Des Moines

We will try and stay on top of this every day to the best of our ability and compile it here.

Several other offers extended by Nebraska today

It wasn’t just Ngoyi who picked up an offer from Nebraska today. According to social media there were a number of new offers extended on Monday.

There were 2023 and 2024 players that reported picking up offers from Nebraska on Monday.

7v7 team members visit Nebraska

I have been piecing together visit tweets and interviews to understand most of the members from a 7v7 team from Florida was in Lincoln on Saturday.

I caught up with Taevion Swint on Sunday evening and will bring you an update on the 2025 running back later this week. Then there were a number of other tweets, all from Saturday, by recruits from Florida all visiting Lincoln on Saturday.

On Monday night Swint sent me his pictures from the visit for the story and stated that the visitors on Saturday all play for the same 7v7 team, 24K. Here are some of the players that visited Lincoln as part of that group:
