The nonconference schedules for the 2023-24 seasons for Nebraska men’s and women’s basketball are slowly starting to take shape.

So far, the men’s team has four nonconference games scheduled plus a home multi-team event at Pinnacle Bank Arena, while the women’s team has one nonconference game scheduled, according to game contracts obtained by the Journal Star through a public records request.

The Nebraska men will host Florida A&M on Nov. 9, Creighton on Dec. 3 and North Dakota on Dec. 20. The Huskers will also travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to play Kansas State in Bramlage Coliseum on Dec. 17.

Florida A&M went 7-22 and North Dakota went 13-20 this past season.

Creighton and Kansas State are still playing, both advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are a No. 3 seed and will play Montana State on Friday. The Bluejays are a No. 6 seed and will play NC State on Friday.

The Husker men will also play host to three yet-to-be-announced teams for three games. The specific dates of those games have not been solidified, but are penciled in for Nov. 13-23.

While the specific teams aren’t known yet for the MTE, the contract stipulates the participating teams have three-year average NET rankings of 1.) between 170-350; 2.) between 200-350; 3. between 230-350; unless otherwise approved by Nebraska.

Unlike last season’s Battle in the Vault, the contract language for the multi-team event suggests those games will be included in season ticket packages.

The one game on the books so far for the Nebraska women is a Nov. 6 date at PBA with Northwestern State, a Division I team located in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
