Lackluster Game Atmosphere

This might not be a popular opinion especially with larger issues at hand but I’m somewhat disappointed in the game atmosphere yesterday.

Examples: The stadium was trying to start the wave in the 3rd quarter when the offense was trying to get gong and then had the hot dog guy blasting his cannon for about an hour which took focus away from a team that needs every bit of help it can get from the fans. The music only ever got the crowd hyped for 3rd downs when everyone finally stood and yelled. The band is really only ever good during the pre game show otherwise they offer negative excitement from that point forward. Lastly the incredibly lame hype videos with clips from a post game presser from Frost talking about how close they are… Embarrassing.

Am I just a Scrooge, or is there a somewhat significant issue with the marketing department too focused on the sideshows of Memorial Stadium instead of having the main focus on hyping up the players and crowd. Home field advantage is no joke in college athletics and the Huskers didn’t have any of it yesterday.

Also that Irish song they keep trying to push absolutely stinks.
