Just a random thought: What if front-loading the 2020 schedule with the two best teams in the conference sends a different message than what’s been reported.

Did anyone see “The Rookie” with Dennis Quaid? If you haven’t, here’s the synopsis…

Former college pitcher, now high school baseball coach and science teacher in a very rural part of Texas makes a deal with the team. If they win regional’s and end up in the state playoffs, he’ll try out for a major league baseball team. They convince him that they have a better chance of winning if they practice trying to hit his ‘good stuff’ off the mound instead of the low speed, easy-to-hit trash most coaches throw. <spoilers omitted>

Is there any chance this is just ‘tough love’ from the conference to get gud and we have a better chance of a winning season if we get thrown right into the fire this season?

Even if it’s too 3-dimensional chess for the league, couldn’t this be just the thing we need?

It’s just a random thought. Don’t kill me for it.
