Nebraska freshman thrower Axelina Johansson placed 12th in the women’s shot put at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday night.

On Friday she set a new personal best of 60-11 1/4 (18.57m) to become the only current collegiate student-athlete to reach the final 12. The NCAA outdoor bronze medalist, Johansson topped both the NCAA gold and silver medalists to advance to the final.
