I think this saga makes being in the Big Ten better for us

There’s always been something missing since we joined the conference, some fire or emotion that we hadn’t developed with all these teams we had no history with. Well, we’ve got it now. There’s bad blood here where before everything was cloaked in niceties or “glad to have you”s. The gloves are now off among Nebraska, the conference, opposing fans, and the national media, and now everyone’s being honest about just how much they don’t like each other. I think it’s going to make playing here a lot more fun at the very least. I hope our players and coaches are coming away deeply pissed off by the response and double standard from opposing fans/members of the conference and by some of the things that were said by people like Forde and Rittenberg. It also seems like forever since Husker fans stood up for themselves in this way instead of self-pitying. I’ve been pretty stoked and energized by this. It’d be nice if we could take that momentum and turn it into playing but it can wait. Let’s gooooooooo.
