Huskers Travel to Iowa City for Big Ten Championships



The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set for the Big Ten Championships which will take place in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, March 18. NU will compete in Session I which is set to begin at 11 a.m. (CT), with live television coverage by the Big Ten Network. 

 

Last Time Out

NU is coming off of a second-place finish at the Masters Classic in the final regular-season meet of the season. The Huskers recorded their best team score at home with a 197.275, marking the second-consecutive week score above the 197-mark. 

 

Spence led the Big Red with two individual titles, claiming the uneven bars and all-around title. Spence set a new personal best with a 9.975 on uneven bars while matching her career-best in the all-around (39.650). Kylie Piringer added the event title on floor, matching her career-high score of 9.925. 


Scouting the Competition

The Huskers will take on No. 24 Illinois, No. 22 Maryland, No. 20 Minnesota, Penn State and Rutgers in the first session.


No. 25 Iowa, No. 2 Michigan, No. 9 Michigan State and No. 15 Ohio State will compete during Session II. 

 

After both sessions, individual and team awards will be presented based on the combined results of the two sessions.
