Huskers Top Oregon, 3-2, in Queen’s Cup

The Nebraska beach volleyball team closed out the Heineken Queen’s Cup with a 3-2 win over Oregon on Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Huskers went 2-3 in the tournament to improve to 9-4 on the season. It marks the first time the Huskers have won two matches in the Queen’s Cup since first playing in it in 2017.

Lexi Rodriguez and Bekka Allick played as the Huskers’ No. 2 pair against the Ducks and got NU on the board first with a 21-16, 21-17 win. Oregon tied the match with a win at No. 3, but Bergen Reilly and Ally Batenhorst earned a 19-21, 21-19, 15-11 win as Nebraska’s top pair for the match.

Laney Choboy and Lindsay Krause clinched the match with a win at No. 4, 21-12, 17-21, 15-9.

The Huskers will face No. 9 Hawaii on Tuesday at 2 p.m. (CT) at the Ching Complex.
