Huskers Open B1G Tournament with Boilermakers



The No. 60 Nebraska women’s tennis team is set for the 2023 postseason as it travels to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Big Ten Tournament hosted by Purdue. NU will face the No. 54 Boilermakers on Thursday at 2 p.m. CT at the Schwartz Tennis Center.

Huskers Earn No. 10 Seed

Following an impressive conference performance during the regular season with an overall record of 15-9, including a 4-7 Big Ten record, Nebraska has grabbed the No. 10 seed in the tournament. The doubles duo of Samantha Alicea and Raphaëlle Lacasse broke into the ITA Doubles Rankings at No. 45. The duo has played in the No. 1 position and has earned a 14-1 doubles record. The only doubles match the duo dropped was against Purdue’s Liz Norman and Tara Katarina Milic. 

Scouting Purdue

During the regular season, Purdue earned an overall record of 15-7, including a 6-5 conference record. When NU met Purdue on the court during the regular season, the Boilermakers won the match 4-1.

If the Huskers win on Thursday afternoon, they will matchup against the No. 2 seed Ohio State for the second time this season on Friday at 2 p.m. CT.
