Huskers Host No. 16 Hawkeyes



The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is set to host the No. 16 Iowa Hawkeyes this Monday, Feb. 6. The meet is set to start at 8 p.m.  (CT) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center and will be broadcasted live on the Big Ten Network. 

 

The Huskers last faced the Hawkeyes last season at the Big Ten Championship. Iowa outscored the Huskers, 196.950-196.450. Nebraska leads the series, 29-11. 

 

Last Time Out

NU is coming off of a conference loss to Illinois. The Fighting Illini claimed the victory with a score of 196.700 while the Huskers finished the meet with a team score of 195.800. 

 

Seven Huskers combined for seven new season-high scores including sophomore Emma Simpton who made her floor debut against Illinois, notching a 9.825. 
 

Scouting the Competition

The Hawkeyes are coming off of a Big Ten competition against No. 18 Minnesota, where both teams scored a 196.875, to end in a tie. Iowa is 0-1-1 in Big Ten matchups, falling to No. 10 Ohio State. 

 

Last weekend, Iowa tied for first place in all four events. JerQuavia Henderson claimed the floor title with a 9.975 while Linda Zivat earned the vault title with a 9.975. Adeline Kenlin earned a 9.875 on bars and a 9.900 on beam to claim the two event titles.
