Huskers Enter Final Day of the Track Kat Klash

Houston, Texas – The Nebraska bowling team went 3-2 on Saturday at the Track Kat Klash bringing its record to 6-4 for the first two days of the tournament. Entering the final day of competition, the Huskers sit in seventh with a total pinfall of 9,943.

The Huskers, who are third in the NTCA poll, won against Upper Iowa (918-865), No. 14 University of Maryland Eastern Shore (1,114-1,079) and No. 15 Maryville (916-892), as the Huskers took two losses against No. 1 McKendree (942-1,054) and UAB (1,029-1,057). 

Two Huskers currently sit in the top 25 of the individual standings after today’s five traditional matches. Freshman Jillian Martin sits in sixth with a total pinfall of 1,081. Senior Crystal Elliott currently holds 11th with a pinfall of 1,061. Senior Kendyl Hofmeister is currently in 26th with a pinfall of 996. 

The Big Red will resume play tomorrow for the third and final day of the tournament at 8:20 a.m. (CT) for Sunday’s Championship bracket.  

Results from Friday and Saturday will determine the seeding for Sunday’s Championship bracket. During this championship tournament, each team will compete in three rounds of best four-of-seven Baker style matches.
