Huskers Battle Top-Seeded Terrapins on Thursday Night

Nebraska continues play in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament with a matchup against top-seeded Maryland on Thursday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
 
First pitch between the Huskers and Terrapins is scheduled for 26 p.m.

Nebraska vs. Maryland
• Through 16 all-time meetings, Maryland holds a 9-7 advantage over Nebraska in the all-time series.
• The Huskers dopped a road series earlier this season in College Park, recording the lone win in a 12-10 slugfest on Saturday afternoon.
• Nebraska and Maryland meet for the second time in the Big Ten Tournament after the Terrapins picked up an 8-5 victory in the 2017 Big Ten Baseball Tournament in Omaha.

• This week marks the eighth Big Ten Tournament the Huskers have appeared in since joining the Big Ten in 2012.
• Nebraska holds a 12-13 record in 25 all-time games in the Big Ten Tournament, including a 6-5 mark in the three seasons the tournament was hosted in Omaha.
• Wednesday’s matchup marks the first meeting between the two programs in the Big Ten Tournament.
 
Offensive Outburst Against Big Ten Foes
• Since joining the Big Ten in 2012, Nebraska has scored 30-plus runs in a three-game conference series nine times, including three times this season.
• The Big Red have totaled its second, third and fourth-most series totals this season while scoring 8.0 runs per game through 24 Big Ten contests.
 
All Three Facets
• Nebraska is one of six teams nationally to be ranked in the top 50 in all three facets of the game.
• The Huskers are 45th in batting average (.301), 49th in earned run average (4.79) and 44th in fielding percentage (.978).
 
Numbers to Know
8 – Nebraska is set to compete in its eighth Big Ten Baseball Tournament since joining the Big Ten in 2012. The Big Red are 12-13 in 25 tournament games.
5 – Max Anderson is five hits shy of becoming the eighth Husker to reach 100 hits in a single-season. The last Huskers to reach the century mark were Jeff Leise and Jed Morris in 2002.
2 – Kyle Perry and Shay Schanaman are the only two Huskers to play in a Big Ten Tournament game before this week.
6 – Nebraska is one of six teams nationally to be ranked in the top 50 in batting average, fielding percentage and earned run average this season, joining Alabama, Texas, Oral Roberts, Virginia and Wake Forest.
4 – Four Huskers earned All-Big Ten honors, led by Max Anderson and Brice Matthews on the All-Big Ten First Team. Gabe Swansen was on the All-Big Ten Second Team, while Shay Schanaman was All-Big Ten Third Team.
