Huskers Battle NC State to Scoreless Tie


Lincoln, Neb. – The Huskers outshot their opponent for the sixth time this season en route to a 0-0 draw at Hibner Stadium on Thursday night.
 
Highlighting the scoreless first 45 minutes was a shot by sophomore Sarah Weber in the 13th minute that hit the crossbar before going out of play. Nebraska held the 11-1 advantage in shots in the first half, as well as corner kicks (1-0).
 
The teams remained scoreless throughout the second half. NU continued playing aggressively as it recorded six shots and two shots on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net. 
 
Junior Sami Hauk, a two-time Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week last season, led the Husker defense which allowed no shots on goal. Hauk played the entire 90 minutes for the Huskers as well as Nicola Hauk, Reagan Raabe, Sadie Waite, Lauryn Anglim and Weber. 
 
NU continues its four-game homestand this weekend facing USC on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. (CT). The match will be aired live on BTN with Dean Linke and Jackie Manny on the call.
