HOW DO THE HUSKERS LIGHT UP THE SCOREBOARD?

1. Have an offensive line that is sick and tired of the last five weeks and shows up on a mission and with a bad attitude. The old O-line band is almost all back together with Jerald Foster’s return. The goal was for NU to be a top-three running team in the Big Ten. The Huskers have dropped to fifth. Time to make a charge.

2. As talented as those Husker receivers are, they missed a few big-play chances last week you expect them to make. When an offense is struggling, you need your best guys to sometimes make an out-of-the-ordinary play.

3. Find some high-percentage passing opportunities for Tommy Armstrong, or Ryker Fyfe, that can build some confidence early. Sort of like a struggling basketball player needing to get to the free-throw line to see the ball go through the hoop, the Huskers could use a few easy pitch and catches early.

4. Beat Minnesota at its own game. Convert some third downs, control the clock, wear on a Gopher defense that is solid but not near as deep as the last two teams Nebraska has played. Both teams are averaging more than 32 minutes of time of possession a game and the Huskers have held a TOP advantage in eight out of nine games.
