27 Huskers Earn Academic All-Big Ten

The Nebraska cross country team had 27 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big Ten honors, the Big Ten Conference announced Tuesday.

Emma Ralston represents the cross country program as one of Nebraska’s three honorees with unblemished grade-point averages at the conclusion of the fall semester.

For the fifth time in his career, Mark Freyhof received the conference honor, while Ryan Martins, Bailey Timmons, Erika Freyhof and Kaitlynn Johnson are four-time selections. Three-time honorees include Ryan Eastman, Jack Slagle, Audrey Freyhof, Grace Pagone and Margaret Pollard.

Six Huskers picked up the honor for the second time and 11 earned their first Academic All-Big Ten accolade. In recognition of their efforts in the classroom, a total of 13 members of the men’s squad and 14 members of the women’s team earned the distinction.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
