Will Bob Diaco be the spark that the Nebraska Football team needs?

For most football programs, the offseason is treated as a time to be out on the recruitment trail and find the future stars for your program. The Nebraska Football program has been covering a lot of territory during the process but had an unexpected surprise from head coach, Mike Riley, this weekend.

The Nebraska program announced the hiring of former Connecticut head coach, Bob Diaco, as the new defensive coordinator. Of course this news was sparked by the previous announcement that former Nebraska defensive coordinator, Mark Banker, would not be retained.

Diaco had led the Huskies (2014-2016) to just 11 wins over three years as a head coach. You might be skeptical of this job hire after seeing his body of work as a head coach but Diaco had previously been the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame before his departure.
