The Big Ten Conference announced its fall Academic All-Big Ten honorees on Wednesday afternoon, including six members of the Nebraska volleyball program.

Seniors Mikaela Foecke (animal science) and Brooke Smith (nutrition and health science) both earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. Foecke earned the accolade for the third consecutive season, while it was Smith’s second time earning the award at Nebraska.

Sophomores Hayley Densberger (psychology), Sami Slaughter (marketing), Jazz Sweet (management) and Anezka Szabo (communication studies) also earned the Academic All-Big Ten honor for the first time.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
