Palensky, Chick Named to All-Big 10 Second Team

Sophomore outfielder Aaron Palensky and freshman infielder Cam Chick both received conference honors on Tuesday. Palensky and Chick were both named second team selections on the All-Big 10 Team.

This year, Palensky leads the Huskers with a .339 batting average, including a .323 mark in conference play. He also leads the team hits (65), doubles (11), triples (2), home runs (5) and runs scored (36).

Chick, who was also selected to the All-Freshman Team, holds the Husker’s second highest batting average with an average of .316, behind only Palensky. On the season, Chick has 35 hits, a pair of doubles, four homers and 25 RBIs.

Additionally, junior outfielder Joe Acker won Nebraska’s Sportsmanship Award for 2019. Acker’s 13 multi-hit games is tied for the 2nd most on the team.

Nebraska will be in action next Wednesday night for round one of the Big 10 Tournament at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. They’ll take on the Golden Gophers at 9 p.m. but pregame coverage will begin at 8 on KLIN.
