Nebrasketball: Forward Derrick Walker Commits to the Huskers

It took the former Tennessee Volunteer about a week in the transfer portal to find a home.

When Fred Hoiberg says he is going to fill a roster, he doesn’t wait around.

On Wednesday forward Derrick Walker announced he would be spending his final two years playing for the University of Nebraska. The 6’8” former Tennessee Volunteer will sit out next season and have two remaining with his eligibility.

Walker was a top rated recruit out of high school in Kansas City, MO. At Tennessee he averaged 5.3 minutes per game with 0.8 points and 1.1 rebounds. While there he was one of the least producing players on the roster. A reminder thought that this was on a team that went 31-6 and made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen this past season.
