Bri Cassidy was one of eight student-athletes in the country to earn the John McLendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship, announced by the John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation on Monday.

Cassidy will graduate in August with a degree in communications studies and sociology. The catcher was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick and finished her Husker career has an NFCA Third-Team All-Region honoree in 2019. After graduating in August, Cassidy will begin the Master of Arts in Business with a Specialization in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration (MAIAA) program at Nebraska.

“[I’m] just so grateful for all of the continued blessings that God has sent my way,” Cassidy said. “This scholarship is truly an honor and I’m so thankful for the great company of the other seven [recipients] that I get to celebrate this with.

The McLendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship winners will each receive a $10,000 grant to be used towards postgraduate studies in athletics administration.
